Lila Miller Signs NLI at Purdue University Northwest

Chesterton High School is proud to announce that senior Lila Miller has signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Purdue University Northwest, where she will compete for the Pride softball program. Lila will major in Integrative Human Health at PNW as she continues her outstanding journey both on and off the field. She has excelled academically throughout high school, carrying an impressive 4.1 weighted GPA. During her time at Chesterton High School, Lila has been a standout contributor to the softball program. A key member of the Chesterton softball program, Lila helped lead the Trojans to the IHSAA Sectional Championship last season. Her individual athletic accolades include: 2023 Softball All-Conference Selection Most Productive Hitter Award Mental Attitude Award Scholar Athlete Award Beyond her achievements in athletics, Lila has made a significant impact across the CHS community. She has dedicated time as an intern with the Athletic Trainers, gaining valuable experience while supporting student-athletes across multiple sports. Her additional involvement includes: 9/11 Memorial Set-Up Volunteer Volunteer at St. Patrick’s Church Member of Sandpipers Show Choir Vice President of Red Cross Club National Honor Society Tri-M Music Honor Society Best Buddies Program Scattergories Club Senior Leader for the Gold Standard Program Principal’s Honor Roll Recipient Selected for the esteemed “Hatta Girl” event At Purdue Northwest, Lila will play under Head Coach Claire Schapker, joining a program known for its competitiveness, culture, and commitment to excellence.
