⚾ Congratulations to Mark Gland! ⚾ Chesterton High School proudly welcomes Mark Gland into the CHS Hall of Fame! A true standout on the baseball diamond, Mark was a two-time team MVP (1971 & 1972) and the ace of Chesterton’s pitching staff, helping lead the Trojans to their first-ever sectional baseball title in 1971. During his remarkable career, Mark struck out 21 batters in a nine-inning game as a junior and, as a senior, delivered six shutouts, three no-hitters, and a six-inning perfect game. He totaled 115 strikeouts in 65⅔ innings and also dominated at the plate with a .490 batting average. After high school, Mark signed with the Kansas City Royals as an undrafted free agent and spent two years in the minor leagues, continuing his baseball journey at the professional level. ⚾👏 Join us in celebrating Mark Gland, a record-setting athlete and a cornerstone of Chesterton baseball history! 💛🖤
