Peyton Ostertag Commits to Hope College for Swimming Chesterton, IN — Chesterton High School is proud to announce that senior Peyton Ostertag has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Hope College, where she will compete as a member of the swimming program. Ostertag, a standout member of the Chesterton Girls Swim & Dive team, has demonstrated exceptional dedication both in the pool and in the classroom. She plans to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering while competing at the collegiate level. During her time at Chesterton, Ostertag has been actively involved in a wide range of activities. She is a member of the Duneland Swim Club and has given back to her community through her work with her church, including kids ministry, photography, and videography. She has also served as a swim instructor, helping to mentor and develop younger athletes. In addition to her athletic commitments, Ostertag has been a leader within the school community. She is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), the National Honor Society, and the Chesterton High School Bible Study. She also played a key role in founding FCA initiatives and the CHS Bible Study, demonstrating strong leadership and initiative. Ostertag’s accomplishments extend beyond participation and leadership. She has earned All-American honors in swimming, highlighting her elite level of performance in the sport. Academically, Ostertag has maintained an impressive 3.78 GPA, further showcasing her commitment to excellence in all areas. At Hope College, she will compete under the guidance of Head Coach Jake Taber and join a program known for both its competitive success and strong academic standards. Peyton’s work ethic, leadership, and character make her a tremendous representative of Chesterton High School.
