The Chesterton varsity girls basketball team overcame a sluggish offensive night to outlast Kankakee Valley by the score of 42-39 on Friday night. Foul trouble and injuries hampered the young Trojans all night. Ella Boyanski led the team with 11 points. Senior Allison Van Kley was also in double-figures with 10 points. Lindsi McGuffey iced the game with four clutch free-throws in the fourth quarter. Novea Brandon and Addison Pack added 6 and 5 points respectively while Reese Dilbeck scored 3. The team is back at home tomorrow for a 6:30 start against the Penn Kingsmen.
